An easy way to get a job (Photos)

In today’s economy, nearly seven million people want a job and another seven million people are working multiple jobs, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Much of the growth in jobs has been at the lower end of the pay scale. Some choose to get hired into these jobs for promotional opportunity.

It is easier to find these jobs and easier to be hired to these jobs. They do not require elaborate job search. Usually stores or restaurants welcome walk-ins to apply. Job seekers need only dress appropriately and present themselves well. Some may ask the job seeker to fill out an application on the spot so it may help to bring identification and a record of employment history. If this is suited to your situation, here are were the most jobs are.

4.3 million retail salespersons

Earn a median pay of $10.10 per hour. Salepersons sell merchandise, such as appliances, furniture, automobiles, or clothing to customers. The BLS expects an additional 2 million jobs over the next ten years.

3.4 million cashiers

Earn a median pay of $9.05 per hour. Cashiers collect money and make change in retail and other establishments. They may use scanners, cash registers, credit card machines or they may validate checks. This is a growth job another 1.8 million expected over the next ten years.

3.1 million fast food workers

Earn a median pay of $8.76 per hour. Those who work at lunch counters and diners earn a little more at $8.90 per hour. Fast food workers prepare and serve food and nonalcoholic beverages to customers. There should be an additional 1.1 million jobs over the next ten years. See the McDonald's ad asking for college graduates plus two year's experience.

2.3 million janitors

Earn a median pay of $10.75 per hour. Janitors keep buildings in clean and orderly condition. They perform heavy cleaning duties, such as washing walls and glass, shampooing rugs, cleaning floors, and hauling out trash. Some janitors tend furnaces, perform routine maintenance, and shovel snow. There should be an additional 682 thousand jobs over the next ten years.

915,000 restaurant cooks

Earn a median pay of $10.61 per hour. Cooks generally make full course restaurant meals from scratch. They may also order supplies, keep records, set prices or plan menus. There should be an additional 313 thousand jobs over the next ten years.
