An early run-off can bring less water for California's summer

An early run off can bring less water for California's summer.

California's water comes from rain storms, a heavy snowpack that fills up reservoirs, lakes, and underground water. Water levels, so far, are okay, but if there is an early run- off there could not be enough water for the later part of the summer, according to many water officials.

Because of early rain storms and snow storms in the California Sierras, California reservoirs and the California snowpack built up. But since we haven't had any real heavy rain storm or snow storm, we will lack water near the end of summer--water ration may take place.

So far, according to water officials, California is approximately at the same water level, at this time, in years past. What we need, now, is a good rain storm and snow storm in the California Sierras to build up the snow pack for a late run-off.

We still have two months to go(April and May) for nature to build up the snow pack and water level, but if we do not get these storms, we could definitely be looking at a water shortage.
