To get a jump start on design and furnishing their first home a young family contacted INSTUDIO for Design Direction several weeks before moving in. During a complementary interview the couple said that they needed all new furniture for their 10 year old daughter’s bedroom prior to the move in date.
The designers quickly found stocked furniture that would easily transition the room from girl to teen to young adult. A neutral palette was selected for the furniture so the design can evolve in keeping with the girl’s changing taste. All of the furniture arrived by moving day. The next phase of the design was the layer of décor.
The young international ballroom dancer had informed INSTUDIO that she LOVED purple and she liked orange. Style Sheets of décor were created in her favorite colors. Needless to say she chooses a purple color palette with accents of orange. Bedding ranged from lavender to purple with accents of green. Orange and green furniture, lighting and accessories made the room feel young and fresh.
The Design Directors needed one large piece of art as a focal point for the room. Warhol’s flowers came to mind but… where do you find an affordable print and would it come in purple? A Google image search and Art.com saved the day. A purple Warhol was found. The print was available in several size and frame options making the designer’s job easy. After all of the décor was delivered to the new house the room was quickly styled by INSTUDIO. Purple Flowers made a statement and the room came together with the help of Art.com http://www.art.com/
