Top Latin music singers have confirmed their participation at the 2011 Billboard Latin Music Awards that include Juanes, Lucero, Marc Anthony, Chino y Nacho, Dyland & Lenny, Roberto Tapia, Enrique Iglesias, Luis Fonsi, Christian Castro, Jencarlos Canela, Gloria Trevi, Maná, Pitbull, Camila, Don Omar and Banda El Recodo. The 2011 Billboard Latin Music Awards is the longest running and most prestigious awards show in the Latin music industry that will be televised live on Telemundo Thursday, April 28 beginning with the red carpet gala at 7 p.m. followed by the award show presentation at 8 p.m. at the BankUnited Center in Miami, FL.
Special awards this year are being bestowed upon Latin music veteran Gloria Estefan who will be receiving Billboard's 'Spirit of Hope' Award for her philanthropic work. Joining Estefan is musician Emmanuel who will also be honored with Billboard's Lifetime Achievement Award.
One of the most awaited award shows where fortunate people that live close by are able to attend or millions of viewers will tune in from the comforts of their home or club to watch. Today a local Tampa club, Azucar Night Club at 6710 Hanley Rd, will be selecting a fortunate winner that will be attending the live show presentation with all expenses paid.
Just to mention a few of the performers, after a stellar year of worldwide chart success with hits on his own merit and in collaborations with other leading performers, and topping this year’s list of finalists, Enrique Iglesias, up for 14 awards, returns for what promises to be an unforgettable performance. His album “Euphoria” is his first bilingual album with seven original English songs and six original Spanish songs.
Puerto Rican superstar, Luis Fonsi returns to perform the worldwide television premiere of his single “Gritar” from his upcoming album. The pop singer and composer’s previous album, “Palabras del silencio,” topped the Billboard charts as did two of its singles, “Aquí estoy yo” and “No me doy por vencido.”
Marc Anthony, the biggest selling salsa artist of all time and a true ambassador of Latin music and culture who is up for six awards this year for his successful "Iconos" album will also hit the stage for a memorable performance. In the urban music genre, music fans will enjoy performances by the sensational Venezuelan reggaeton duo Chino y Nacho, up for nine Billboard Latin Music Awards earned for their album "Mi nina bonita".
Also scheduled to perform is popular leading actor and singerJencarlos Canela. The Cuban American sensation, who is one of the featured artists in Pitbull’s latest album titled “Armando,” is making headlines again with the launch of his new hit “Caramelo", the Spanish language version of “I Love Candy,” recorded for international versions of the new movie 'Hop'. Jencarlos will not only star in Telemundo’s upcoming original production “Mi Corazón Insiste,” but also interpret the production's title song. After much success with the launch of his first album “Buscáme,” Jencarlos is ready to release his next production titled “Un Nuevo Día.”
Mexican songstress Gloria Trevi, one of the leading female Latin pop singers, has just concluded the most successful multi-national tour by any Mexican musical act in the last two years. Gloria Trevi just launched “Gloria,” the follow up album to “Una Rosa Blu” that achieved five number 1 singles in Mexico.
