An array of choices this week in live Orlando local music (Photos)

It’s another full week of terrific shows to choose from this week, March 18-24, in Orlando local music. Make it a point to get out to a show or two or three and support the local Orlando music scene.

There are a few local Orlando bands celebrating releases this coming week. On Friday, 3 Bucksworth has a CD release show for “Pure” at The Abbey. Saturday is the official CD release show at Wills Pub for Meka Nism’s “The Dance at the End of the World.” The Sh-Booms are having a release event for their first single on vinyl at Wills Pub on Sunday.

In other news, Orlando local music venue The Peacock Room announced that as of March 31 they will be a smoke-free venue.

Monday, March 18

World of Beer Dr Phillips - 7800 Dr. Phillips Blvd., Suite 300 - Live music from Orlando band Evan Taylor Jones at 9 p.m.

Tuesday, March 19

The Haven - 6700 Aloma Ave. - Orlando bands 5 Billion Dead and Flesharvest appearing with Soulfly, Incite and Lody Kog for this show. The doors open at 6 p.m. and the music starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $18 in advance and will be $20 at the door.

The Red Lion Pub - 3784 Howell Branch Road - RPR presents Twisted Tuesday featuring live music from Orlando area band Holey Miss Moley at 8 p.m.

BackBooth - 37 W. Pine St. - Live music from Orlando bands Monotheist and Traumahawk for this 18+ show. Tickets are $3 and the show starts at 10 p.m.

World of Beer UCF - 3402 Technological Ave., Suite 202 - Live music from Orlando singer/songwriter Drew Yardis at 9:30 p.m. This show has no cover charge.

Wednesday, March 20

The Haven - 6700 Aloma Ave. - Live music from Orlando band Familiar Sin and Central Florida band Lit Up with Adrenaline Mob and Nothing More for this show. Tickets are $18 in advance or $20 at the door. The doors open at 6 p.m. This is Familiar Sin's first home town show since returning from their tour.

Tanqueray’s - 100 S. Orange Ave. - Live music from Orlando singer/songwriter Drew Yardis at 10:30 p.m. every Wednesday. No cover charge for this 21+ show.

On line everywhere - WPRK 91.5 - WPRK’s Local Heroes radio show from 5-7 p.m. features local talent from actors, directors, photographers, entrepreneurs, and musicians with DJ Daniel Pacchioni playing music from local Orlando bands. This week’s in studio guest is Orlando band The Getbye.
