They have been talking about it for some time, but now it is finally happening. Atlanta, Georgia’s alt-metal quintet, Sevendust is planning an acoustic tour this spring which will hit Boise, Sunday April 20. An Acoustic Evening with Sevendust will be hosted by The Knitting Factory. Tickets will go on sale this Friday, January 24 at 10AM. Standard tickets are only $22.50. This marks the band's first acoustic trek in a decade.
Sevendust was formed in 1994 and have released nine studio albums to date including 2013’s “Black Out the Sun”. The band last performed in Boise on March 21, 2013 in support of the new record. At that time, guitarist Clint Lowery mentioned the band was hoping to return in 2014 with an acoustic tour. Now, celebrating the band’s 20th anniversary, Lowery, along with all original members; Lajon Witherspoon (vocals), Vince Hornsby (bass), Morgan Rose (drums) and John Connolly (guitar), have found the perfect time to bring the band to fans, unplugged.
Over the last few years each member of the band has been involved in outside projects as well as Sevendust. Rose has been busy producing Candlelight Red and The Infinite Staircase while performing with Call Me No One. Witherspoon has lent his voice to The Infinite Staircase and Fly to the Moon. Lowery has kept busy with his work in Call Me No One, Dark New Day, and Hello Demons, meet skeletons… Hornsby has spent time with Connolly on their band, Projected, which released its amazing debut album, “Human” in 2012. You can catch our interview with Connolly here, as he discusses Sevendust and Projected.
Feeling refreshed and energized, Sevendust returned with a bang in 2013, and this year the fun continues as they strip down and prove their acoustic mettle. This will be a show that fans will not want to miss.
