The late Amy Winehouse won a Grammy Award today for "Body and Soul," the last song she ever recorded. That duet with Tony Bennett captured the award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
Bennett took the stage to accept the award with Winehouse's parents, who explained that Amy will live on through the Amy Winehouse Foundation, which helps disadvantaged children in the U.S. and U.K.
Winehouse's father Mitch said, "We shouldn't be here. Our darling daughter should be here. These are the cards we're dealt. We miss our daughter so much." He added, "Tony's collaboraton with Amy meant so much to her and to the family as well. She was so excited about 'Body and Soul' because it was my favorite song."
Winehouse's mother said, "Amy is with me and always will be with me. And she will be with all of us. Amy will actually go on for longer than we will. And that is our blessing."
"Body and Soul" beat out Foster the People's "Pumped Up Kicks," Maroon 5 & Christina Aguilera's "Moves Like Jagger" and Coldplay's "Paradise" to take home the award. It was the second trophy of the afternoon for Bennett, who also took home Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album.
