Amy Winehouse has been known but not heard in a while. When talking about recorded music, her last full album Back to Black was released in 2006. In 2007 most of its singles were released including “You Know I’m No Good”, “Back to Black”, “Tears Dry On Their Own”, “Love is A Losing Game” and “Just Friends”. She was also featured on Mark Ronson’s track “Valerie” and former Sugababe Mutya Buena’s single “B Boy Baby”, which borrows from the 1963 track “Be My Baby” by The Ronettes.
Since then she won five Grammy Awards in one night, struggled with drugs and had her hit “Rehab” covered by many, including the Glee cast.
Years later, a cover of “It’s My Party” by Lesley Gore surfaced. The track produced by Mark Ronson, who has been responsible for producing whole albums and singles for Robbie Williams, Lily Allen, Adele, Christina Aguilera and Macy Gray. The song was recorded for Quincy Jones’ new album Q: Soul Bossa Nostra which will be released on November 9th, 2010.
The album includes collaborations with Jennifer Hudson, Ludacris, Robin Thicke, T.I. and Usher.
This year Amy was quoted as saying “It’s going to be very much the same as my second album, where there’s a lot of jukebox stuff and songs that are… just jukebox, really.” She also said the album should be released by January 2011. So far, Mark, who is producing the record, says the album hasn’t been recorded yet.
