This is a day that, unfortunately, many of us saw coming, as according to the UK’s Daily Mail, singer Amy Winehouse has been found dead inside her London home. The singer was just 27 years old.
Ever since Amy Winehouse dropped the song “Rehab,” fans got a glimpse into the madness and uncontrolled substance abuse that would soon derail Winehouse’s career and life.
Despite the success of “Back to Black,” Winehouse fans have desired to hear new music from the soul-inspired UK singer. But Winehouse could never seem to get her act together, as countless YouTube videos of Amy’s performances showed the singer staggering on stage, blabbering incoherently, and angering a loyal audience who supported the singer during her darkest moments.
Amy Winehouse’s death is deeply saddening, but sadly not shocking. This is a day many fans saw as a possibility, as Winehouse seemed unable to rid herself of enablers and overcome her inner demons--even when she was on top of the music scene and snagging armfuls of Grammys.
As of now, Amy Winehouse’s death has not been revealed.
