The legendary singer, Tony Bennett, is one of the many stars that has voiced his sadness over the passing of singer Amy Winehouse. According to a new statement released by the star, Bennett revealed that he and Amy Winehouse recorded a duet together, "Body and Soul" at the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London. The duet was recorded in March of this year.
As Us Magazine reports, Tony Bennett said of the passing of Amy Winehouse: "She was an extraordinary musician with a rare intuition as a vocalist and I am truly devastated that her exceptional talent and has come to such an early end. She was a lovely and intelligent person and when we recorded together she gave a soulful and extraordinary performance." He went on to add: "I was honored to have the opportunity to sing with her. It had been my sincere hope that she would be able to overcome the issues she was battling and I send my deepest sympathy to her father Mitchell, her entire family and all of those who loved her."
There is no doubt that fans of the singer were looking forward to seeing her release new music, and fans are in mourning over the loss of the star, but will continue to celebrate her life, and the legacy of music that she left behind.
