Amy Robach and Lara Spencer drama: New 'GMA' gossip leaked over feud

More Amy Robach and Lara Spencer drama has been exposed. The sudden promotion Lara got Friday to co-host "Good Morning America" with Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos was unceremoniously done for good reason, according to TMZ April 20. It all had to do with "fragile egos."

Since Amy was promoted to co-anchor by filling in where Josh Elliott left off, "GMA" reportedly felt they needed to upgrade Lara's title to keep her happy. Lara is said to think of herself as Robin's fill-in.

According to Page Six, Friday's announcement was BURIED because of office politics. A source told Page Six:

“When Lara re-signed her contract a while ago, she wanted to be the primary fill-in for Robin with a title higher than Amy Robach.”

Another reason for the subtle memo that went out to the news division Friday had to do with Robin of all people. ABC didn't want to "ruffle" her feathers because she can be "quite a diva." This was in TMZ's report citing Page Six A rep for ABC feels it's a shame the memo was interpreted that way.

Back to the Amy Robach and Lara Spencer feud...the two women have been in the news for disliking one another immensely. It all started after Josh left "GMA" for NBC Sports. There were rumors that Amy didn't feel Lara was a serious enough journalist to be on "Good Morning America." A few days into that week, the two were tweeting photos together after they got a manicure.

Not only were Robach and Spencer supposedly defying reports by their actions on-set, they were spotted out eating lunch in NYC. It was rumored that ABC bosses arranged that meeting so the public would be "fooled" about their true relationship.

Have the new dynamics at "Good Morning America" worsened or started the Amy Robach and Lara Spencer feud?
