Not only is Amy Poehler hosting the 2014 Golden Globes with friend and cohort Tina Fey for the second year running, she is also awaiting the verdict on her third Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a TV Series. Poehler plays Leslie Knope, central character in the TV series Parks and Recreation.

The Golden Globes, renowned for its relaxed atmosphere, kicks off the film and TV awards season. It is a format well suited to the deadpan comedic styling’s of Poehler and Fey. States Fey, “… people wear pretty outfits and sometimes movie stars get drunk and then they talk.”

When asked about the night’s festivities, Poehler’s self-deprecating response doesn’t give any hint of anxiousness on her part. “It is kind of a cool night where television and film are honored together, so it’s this rare opportunity where all the beautiful, symmetrical people of film get to hang out with us rat faced TV people.”

When asked about the nature of her relationship with Fey, Poehler quips. “We’ve never spoken to each other personally.”

But when asked about Parks and Recreation, Poehler becomes uncharacteristically serious and reveals how much it means to her. “Oh man … I hope this show lasts forever. It’s a dream job. I love every minute of it and everyone involved in it.”
