It's another live music weekend in Boston covering the blues, jazz, metal and good ole rock and roll.

We've got it covered this weekend in Boston.
Provided by the bands.

Starting at the House of Blues, 15 Lansdowne Street, Boston, on Friday night, February 21, 2014 it's Railroad Earth. This band has been together since 2001 and have put out five critically acclaimed studio albums and one hugely popular live one called, “Elko.” They are essentially playing rock on acoustic instruments or you could say that they're an amplified string band with drums.

The Chicken Bone, 358 Waverly Street, Framingham, brings us the Bamblusion Band on Friday, February 21, 2014. Paul Dawiki of The Blushing Brides is back with his own band Bamblusion: a rock band fusion of jazz and blues with lead singer and guitarist Mark Perry, drummer and vocals Paul Dawicki, and bass and vocals George Czeremcha.

Walkin the Line, a favorite country band is playing at Toby Keith's in Foxboro on Friday night. They are an all-star lineup of musicians, bringing years of experience with some of the best bands around.

Saturday night it's the New England Music Awards at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium, hosted by Comedian Steve Sweeney and featuring live performances by Sarah Borrello, The Mallett Brothers Band, Will Dailey, Nemes, Dressed for the Occasion, and Hayley Sabella.

"The New England Music Awards are presented every year to the musicians who call New England their home and whose dedication, spirit, and achievements over the last year have without a doubt established themselves as a contributing force to the most robust and diverse music scene in the country. The NEMA nominating committee consists of journalists from music publications, radio personalities, talent buyers, and record label execs collectively representing all six New England states.

The goal of NEMA is to celebrate and recognize some of the areas best musical achievements. Every year NEMA will nominate over 100 artists and/or bands spanning a number of categories and genres of popular music in New England, including the coveted individual state awards which will select one band/act from each of the six states as its Best In State."

And if you can't attend the awards show then head on over to the Blackstone Valley Biker's Ball on Saturday night, February 22, 2014, at Fusion, 105 Washington Street, Foxboro where the Danny Klein Full House Band will be performing. $10. admission for this show. Bikers and non bikers welcome!

The Full House Band celebrates the music of the J. Geils Band and is led by founding member of J. Geil's, Danny Klein (aka) Ace on Bass who is one of the founding members and bass player for the world's all time hard driving rhythm and blues act, Boston's own The J. Geils Band. It was 17 years, 17 albums and thousands of gigs and The J. Geils Band delivered the passion, note after note, night after night. Now, Danny brings together a superb group of musicians from his “college of musical knowledge” to perform the classic hits and celebrate the music we all love. Who can resist the top of the charts number one bestsellers like Freeze Frame, Centerfold, and Love Stinks, and the classics like First I Look At The Purse, Give It To Me, Musta Got Lost, Whammer Jammer, I Do, Houseparty, Detroit Shuffle and so many more.

At House of Blues on Saturday, February 22, 2014 it's Big Head Todd & the Monsters. Since their formation in the mid-’80s, Big Head Todd & the Monsters have continued to evolve and explore, moving beyond their Colorado club circuit roots to become one of the most adventurous, respected and durable bands in America. This band agrees that they all are interested in rocking out! (My kinda band).

Their new album Black Beehive is available now! www.bigheadtodd.comiTunes: CDs and more info:

The Dan Lawson Band will be at the Chicken Bone on Saturday. Lawson is a charismatic blues-rock guitarist and a singer-songwriter of stylistic depth and emotional resonance. He's been a frequent performer at all the Major Blues Festivals throughout North America such as "The Ottawa Blues Festival" and the "Mont-Tremblant Blues Festival" in Montreal Canada. Lawson has also performed at "The Ledgendary Buffalo Chip" in Sturgis, South Dakota with the likes of Kid Rock, Joe Walsh, Lynyrd Skynyrd, George Thorogood, Blue Oyster Cult, Alice Cooper, Kenny Wayne Sheppard, Toby Keith, and Papa Roach.

On Sunday, February 23, 2014, Dalton and the Sheriff's will be playing their country sound at Ned Devine's Irish Pub, 1 Fanueil Hall Square #1, Boston, MA.

Have a great weekend everyone!
