Overall, Amy, who is now 27, is in a great place and excited about what her future holds. “We’ll see what opens up,” she said excitedly on Friday. “This time in my life is a big transition.”

About six months ago, TLC executives contacted Amy about starring in her own TV show, a spin-off of “19 Kids and Counting.” Taping began shortly thereafter and Amy spent a lot of time living from a suitcase and traveling between Nashville and Arkansas. “A Duggar Leaves Home” is set to premiere on TLC in early June.

“It will show a whole different side of the Duggar family,” Amy explained. Grandma Duggar, Amy’s mom, plus a host of friends will all appear on the special. When asked what she liked most about her new TV opportunity, Amy exclaimed, “I get to be real!” She added that there is no script, so everything is very realistic. “It’s just me being me!”

During the special, Amy will take the stage to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a singer. “Hopefully, the viewers will like my voice,” she stated. During filming, Amy was impressed with the production of her special. “I was so humbled by this,” she shared.

Amy loves all types of music, including rock and roll (her dad’s passion), Christian music (her mom’s favorite genre), plus jazz, country, and even rap. Some of her favorite singers and groups include Martina McBride, Eric Church, Aerosmith, and Drake. “I like all types of music,” she said and added that her iPod is a mishmash of all music types.

Amy hopes to build buzz around her special, “A Duggar Leaves Home,” in the weeks leading up to its premiere. For the national debut of her show, Amy plans on renting out a place in Arkansas that can accommodate her super-sized Duggar family. If ratings are strong, TLC could extend the special into a weekly TV show.

Speaking of family, two of Amy’s cousins, Jill and Jessa Duggar, are now involved in relationships. “Love is blooming all over the place,” Amy happily stated. She considers Jill a “little hippie chick” because she loves culture and has visited so many countries. As posted by The Stir on April 17, Jill Duggar is set to marry Derick Dillard on June 21, 2014. During our interview, Amy revealed that she was asked to sing during their wedding ceremony. Amy has met both Derick and Ben Seewald, Jessa Duggar’s new love. “They’re real sweethearts,” she said with enthusiasm. As posted by Christian Today on Thursday, Jessa and Ben are still involved in a courtship, but have not yet announced an engagement.

Concerning her own love life, Amy is too busy with her career right now to focus on it. Her last relationship recently went sour, but Amy is confident that the right Christian man for her is still out there. However, she’s a bit more cautious about falling for “tall, dark and handsome” types.

Amy explained that she wants to see action behind the words when it comes to love. “Talk is cheap,” she stated frankly. “I want someone who is sincere and doesn’t just talk the talk, but also walks the walk." On a lighter note, Amy added that she wants someone to be funny, romantic and easy to look at. She joked, “If I’m going to kiss a guy, I have to be attracted to him.”

The next two months will be the calm before the storm. Once Amy’s special airs, her world will be turned upside down, but in a good way. She refers to “A Duggar Leaves Home” as a comedy hour because “there’s a lot of heart.” She also promises that it will include good, wholesome fun for the entire family.

In the meantime, Amy is looking forward to spending a peaceful Easter with her mom and dad. All of her cousins will be out of town, so the holiday will be quieter than usual. The down time is just what Amy needs before gearing up for her big TV premiere.

Amy Duggar from "19 Kids and Counting" and "A Duggar Leaves Home" is more excited about her future and new adventures than ever before. She’s loving life and living it to its fullest.
