Concierge Travel, the largest gay-owned and operated travel agency and tour operator in Texas, announced this week that performers Amy Armstrong and Freddy Allen will headline its all-gay Costa Rica cruise in 2011.
Chicago-based Armstrong and Allen have been performing for 15 years. Their wit and musical prowess make them one of the most successful cabaret acts to come from Chicago in the last decade. Armstrong and Allen have opened for such big names as The Supremes, Phyllis Diller, Bea Arthur and Jennifer Holiday. They have also been performing on RSVP Vacations cruises since 1999, where they are crowd favorites and were named official “Entertainment Ambassadors” in 2006.
“We’re thrilled to have these iconic performers—Amy and Freddy— who are so well known to gay audiences on the high seas aboard our ship,” said Kim Gustavsson, vice president of sales and marketing for Concierge Travel. “We think our guests will love Amy and Freddy’s performances aboard the luxurious Star Flyer.”
"This season marks a special occasion for us as we celebrate our 15th anniversary performing together,” declared Amy Armstrong and Freddy Allen in a written statement. “Over the years we have been fortunate to travel the globe with the LGBT community and we are proud to be working with our dear friends at Concierge Travel. We enjoy the smaller cruise voyages as it gives us the opportunity to get to know the entire ship. It will be an exciting, memorable and rare travel experience.”
This is Concierge Travel’s first all-gay luxury sailing ship cruise to Costa Rica and Panama. The full ship charter cruise, carrying 170 passengers, will sail on the elegant Star Flyer clipper ship March 6 to 13, 2011. The ship will launch from Puerto Caldera, Costa Rica. After a relaxing day at sea, the ship will dock in Isla de Coiba, Panama, where guests can explore virgin rainforests or dive among sea turtles, dolphins and manta rays.
The cruise continues on to six more ports on Costa Rica’s sunny Pacific coast, with highlights ranging from archaeological ruins on Isla del Cano to powder white sand beaches and an astonishing array of wildlife in Quepos and nearby Manuel Antonio National Park. Staterooms on this Costa Rica and Panama adventure start at $2,275.
