Amy Adams is poised to star in "The Story of Your Life," an adaptation of a short story by Nebula and Hugo Award-winning author Ted Chiang. The flick is being directed by Denis Villeneuve, whose credits include "Prisoners," according to The Hollywood Reporter on April 2.
Amy Adams, loved for her roles in films like "Julie & Julia", "Enchanted" and of course "American Hustle", her latest sees playing the part of an expert linguist, enlisted by the military to determine whether aliens come in peace or are a threat.
As she learns to communicate with the aliens, she begins experiencing vivid flashbacks that become the key to unlocking greater mysteries about the true purpose of their visit.
Though filming isn't scheduled to start until early next year, that still gives plenty of time to be excited for Adams' first major, solo leading role.
