Osama bin Laden was killed in 2011 by the U.S Navy Seals. According to Reuters.com, officials reported on Monday that they are planning a $30 Million amusement park built on the land where Osama was killed.
The amusement park planning to be built in the area where Osama was killed, on the edge of the northwestern town of Abbottabad, will include a zoo, rock climbing, paragliding, a mini golf course and water sports. It has been reported that it can take up to 5 years for the amusement park to be built.
Although authorities have demolished the area where Osama’s house was to make room for the park, senior regional official, Khalid Omarzai has advised them to build houses for local officials instead. Apparently, he is not keen on the idea of an amusement park being built and when some people suggested a public park be built, he shot down the idea saying everyone will just call it, “Osama Park.” He states the government of Abbottabad has been having problems with housing and now that Osama’s home has been demolished, why not use that area for homes for these officials?
