Amsterdam Rams fell short to Bishop Maginn Griffins Friday night at home with a lost of 20-17.
The rugged Rams played great and stood toe to toe with the Griffins. Their first great play came in the first few minutes of the game when the Griffins fumbled a pitch from quarterback Chris Jeffers. Ryan Douglas made the recovery.
Eric Gieseler made an 11 yard touchdown along with quarterback Brandon Eutermarks 1 yard dive into the end zone. Evert Flint kicked in a 26 yard field goal that gave the Rams their 17 against the Griffins 20.
The Rams force came from running back Mike Flowers with 136 yards. He was a force to be stopped. Flowers cuts to the right side made the Griffins step back, and up their game plan. Bobby Noto had a few great passes that help the Rams have a great game in spite of losing to Bishop Maginn
Coach Joe Grasso of Bishop Maginn said “ we made a lot of mistakes on defense. “ Flowers had a great game for them, he was the difference maker for them”.
Coach Grasso said “ Chris Jeffers did a great job for us in his first game ever playing football”. “Mallory put in a great performance the line did a pretty good job for him, he’s a great player”.
The Griffins running back Tymear Mallory, did an amazing job with 19 carries and 212 yards. With an impressive 48 yards in a little over a minute to play. The Griffins came to play ball, and they played hard.
Coach Pat Liverio, told his team “they did everything we asked them to do at half. Our second string quarterback led the team the rest of the way. “
Mike Flowers said “ his team did a great job we played well. Next time we’ll do better. Bishop Maginn has a good team. Tymear Mallory is a good player and a fast running back but we stopped him a few times.
Although coach Leverio told the Rams that they did a great job they were still sadden by the lost And vow to pick up the pace.
This should have been Amsterdam’s game as seen by myself and others the officials were a little off on most if not all of their calls against Amsterdam. It was clear to see a few of the calls were straight wrong.
Coach Leverio is very disappointed in the officials of last night game. “ I’ve never seen a group of officials just come in and take the game away. This is what they did”.

Comments
I TOTALLY AGREE WITH COACH LIVERO, BISHOP MAGINN IS A GOOD TEAM BUT IT WAS TOTALLY AMSTERDAM'S GAME TO WIN. TOO MANY BAD CALL'S DUE TO OFFICIAL'S INCORRECT JUDGING.
