‘Amour’ starts this Friday at The Pageant Theatre

An octogenarian couple’s relationship is put to the test after one of them suffers a stroke in the Oscar nominated “Amour,” which begins this Friday, Feb. 15, at The Pageant Theatre.

Admission to The Pageant Theatre is seven dollars for adults; five dollars for children and seniors; five dollars for matinee showtimes; and three dollars for Cheap Skate Monday.

Directed by Michael Haneke (“Cache,” “The White Ribbon”), “Amour” tells the story of two former musical teachers enjoying the retirement life in a comfortable apartment. After Anne (Emmanuelle Riva) suffers a stroke that leaves her partially paralyzed, Georges (Jean-Louis Trintignant) becomes her full-time caretaker. As Georges begins to struggle with the task, a visit from the couple’s daughter, Eva (Isabelle Huppert) reaffirms how secluded from society they have become in since retiring.
