Crystal Dynamics is busy developing the sequel to last year's Tomb Raider which did not leave it much bandwidth to bring Tomb: Raider: Definitive Edition to the Playstation 4 and Xbox One. Instead, the studio employed studios such as United Front Games and Nixxes Software. Executive Producer talked with Examiner about managing the work from three different teams.

"Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition was a labor of love," Amos expaling. "Having three teams working on the project and maintaining what makes Tomb Raider special certainly required coordination and communication. Teamwork was critical. Having all three teams pulling together towards the same goal let us maximize the development time we had and deliver the vision of Tomb Raider that we started with."

United Front Games is perhaps best known for the 2012 open-world action title Sleeping Dogs while Nixxes Software previously worked on PC ports of several Square Enix titles.

Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition is due out Tuesday, Jan. 28 for the PS4 and Xbox One.
