Amityville woman faces animal cruelty charges for dumping neglected puppies

The Suffolk County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals announced Sunday to issuing a field ticket to Swaneka P.J. Danzler in connection with abandoning two young pit bull puppies in a six-foot window well at Riverhead Animal Hospital in Hauppauge on December 18, 2012.

The puppies were malnourished and suffered from severe mange.

According to the Riverhead News Review, Danzler, 21 is due in court on January 24 and faces charges of animal cruelty and animal abandonment.

A $2,000 reward had been offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction.

The puppies we taken to the North Fork Animal Welfare League and named Nicky and Noel. Sadly Nicky died, but Noel has been gaining weight and according to the organization's Facebook account, Noel will be ready to be transferred to a foster home.
