Last night’s special Christmas episode of "Amish Mafia," was titled “A Very Amish Christmas.” Prior to the next season, starting early in 2014, Discovery Channel gave viewers a peek into the goings on since the last season.

As the episode begins, Merlin stated that Christmas had been mistaken for pagan worship; not how the Amish celebrated the birth of Christ. As Merlin walks into an Amish classroom, he tells the children the Lord has sent him to preach in Lancaster. He asked them who likes Santa? Most of the hands went up, and he asked them if they expected to receive lots of presents this year? He then told them that Santa was a big fat liar and a fraud. Merlin was not done until he had the entire classroom in tears. He even said that Santa was Satan and wore gloves because he had hooves.

As Esther is preparing Christmas dinner, she relates how it is the most sacred holiday for the Amish. Levi then stated that it was celebrated for two days; they go to church and afterwards celebrate with their families. Alvin mentioned the Christmas truce, that everyone put away their differences at Christmas, it is the Amish rule. Wayne agreed to the Christmas truce, provided Merlin stayed out of his way. Merlin stated he would support the Christmas truce, but will never compromise his beliefs. As Esther completed her Christmas meal, she tearfully stated that she would abide by the Christmas truce, because it was her late father’s wish.

As Levi and Alvin sit and watch English people buy trees from an Amish farmer, Alvin goes to retrieve the money from the farmer. When he gets back in the car, he sees that it is short for the usual amount. The farmer told him that because another person is selling trees down the road, he had to cut his prices.

In Ohio, Wayne is bringing logs to a woodcarver. The Amish are experts at woodcarving, and Wayne wants him to make something for his nephew. The Amish use no power tools; all work is done by hand, and the craftsmanship cannot be beat. The farmer asked him if he could help him with a problem; he made a lovely table for an English man, but the man refuses to pay him.

At a shop, English people come to purchase Amish-made items. Levi and Esther are there with their wares. Levi does it every year, and it is a good source of income for Levi and the community. Alvin is dressed as Santa to take pictures with the visiting children, his elf is Steve. As the children ask for toys, Santa tells them there are lots of things at the shop they may like.

Merlin finds an Amish woman who is dead set against the English version of Christmas, and Merlin is happy to have her on his side. She is a very heavy woman, and wields a croquet mallet as she and Merlin enter the shop where Levi is exploiting Christmas. Merlin states that Mary was unfairly shunned by the community, and he knows how it feels. Merlin knows that with Mary’s help, he can save the Amish in Lancaster from Levi. As Merlin is outside the shop with Mary, she now sees how Levi is going against Amish beliefs by commercializing Christmas for the sake of making money.

Alvin is dressing in English clothing and going to visit the other Christmas tree seller who is advertising his trees as Amish. When he walks up to the seller asking about a tree, the price is $20. He asks how he can sell them so cheap; and is told that the Amish guys are not that bright, and it is not hard to get over on them. When Alvin questioned him further, he seemed to get belligerent and asked if he was buying something or just hanging out?

Jolin is in hunting attire and looking for bears in Pennsylvania. He hunts bear every year for Levi, who likes to give the Amish people bear meat as a gesture of good will. Bear meat is essential to the Amish and Mennonite way of life. When Jolin shoots the bear, he tells the camera crew to wait until he makes sure the bear is down. He got him in one shot, right through the lungs. Jolin knows that bear will feed a lot of families for the winter.

As Levi and Alvin come to the other Christmas tree seller’s area during the dark of the night, he has a wood chipper with him. As they put some trees into the chipper, Levi decides that it takes too long, and decides just to burn them, which they do.

Wayne is paying a visit to the man who ordered the custom-made table. He knocked on the door, and the man said he did not want the table. As Wayne dropped off the table, he circled around the man’s yard several times, destroying his property. He came out and paid for the table.

Because of the truce, Levi is letting John and Freeman come back to Lancaster. As Esther goes to get them, John tells her he hopes she rots in Hell. Then they get Freeman, who is in the care of two Amish men who insist he is back in 24 hours.

Merlin and Mary ride across Lancaster and see lots of decorations of Santa. Merlin takes a bat to several of the decorations and accosts a man in a Santa suit and threatens him.

Levi gave Esther a goat for Christmas, which means he really cares for her; the goat is pregnant, so she will have more goats soon. Jolin is passing out the bear meat to his neighbors in Paradise. As Levi is throwing his yearly party for both Amish and English, when Merlin comes in to stop the celebration. He started preaching that Santa was bad for the Amish, but he did not break up the celebration as Esther stepped in and told him off. Merlin left, but his mission is not over.
