Yesterday, Christophe Balestra of Naughty Dog tweeted a picture of the company receiving 120 more PlayStation 4 dev kits for their next-gen project.
“Look at what arrived today at Naughty Dog…,” the company's co-president wrote, as he teased fans with whatever they’re developing for the PS4. While it’s been known for a while that Naughty Dog are hard at work creating a PS4 title, Balestra’s tweet comes at an interesting time when rumors of another “Uncharted” game are starting to surface. A listing for a PS4 “Uncharted” game showed up on GameStop Germany, but lacked any useful information related to the game. Nolan North, who plays Nathan Drake in the “Uncharted” series, spoke with GamerHub about his impression of the PS4. The transcript comes from PlayStation LifeStyle.
I've seen of the prototypes of the PS4 and I know that a lot of the developers I’m working with that use the PS4… it’s an amazing machine. I think it’s going to step up the game for any game. Whether it’s Uncharted, God of War, Call of Duty, all these games are going to benefit from just the technology that they’re putting out.
When we think we’ve reached the pinnacle of what a game can look like, some genius somewhere makes it a little bit better and opens up the avenue for an opportunity to make the game more cinematic, more of an experience. I think the PS4 is going to be pretty amazing – it’s going to push those boundaries even further.
North continued on with his praise of the PS4's graphic capabilities.
I’ve seen some stuff… gameplay… that they’re testing for… I don’t remember what game it was but they were doing some testing on the PS4 and I couldn't believe it was gameplay. I mean, it’s extraordinary technology.
There’s also the possibility of Naughty Dog working on another installment of “The Last of Us,” which was a critical and commercial success, or an original game for the PS4. For now, Naughty Dog fans will have to wait and see what the former “Crash Bandicoot” developer are cooking for Sony’s next-gen console.
