From minimal days in the United States and Canada to a generous entitlement in Venezuela, companies need to consider these entitlements when operating or looking to operate in these states.
In Venezuela employees receive 24 days’ holiday leave during the year. They are closely followed in this lavish benefit by Brazil and Peru, both with 22. Argentina comes in next with 20 and Mexico offers only 16 days. The countries with the least are Colombia and Chile where only 15 days are provided.
The actual number of days off each year varies because of public holidays that are often added to these entitlements.
For example, Mercer, who reports these and a wide range of additional information important for Michigan companies with global operations to know, Colombia offers employees 18 days each year, the most generous in mall of the Americas.
They are followed in the Latin American community by Chile (14), Argentina, Peru, and Venezuela (12), Ecuador (9), and Mexico (7).
