Americans bounce back on the road and sink the RiverKings

SOUTHAVEN, Mississippi --  Allen was shut down just twenty-four hours earlier and the Americans climbed out of a two goal hole to scratch out a 4-3 shootout win over Mississippi.

Christian Gaudet's first period short-handed goal put Allen up by a goal but the RiverKings slipped two shots by Charlie Effinger to take a 2-1 lead after a period.

Mississippi scored early in the second to increase the lead 3-1. Tyler Wooddisse answered with a shot in net for Allen and ended the second down a goal. It took Allen over nineteen minutes of the final period to tie the score on Justin Bowers' powerplay goal.

After a scoreless overtime Effinger was strong in the shootout stopping all but one RiverKing shot. Allen won the shootout 3-1 and secured its 48 point which is second in the Central Hockey League.
