We may have killed Osama bin Laden and numerous other high ranking al-Qaida officials, but according to a new report by Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) and Representative Michael Rogers (R-MI), “Americans are not as safe as they were two years ago.
“There is a lot of malvolence against the United States and the terrorist threat is increasing,” Feinstein stated. “There is a real displaced aggression in this very fundamentalist jihadist Islamic community, and that is that the West is responsible for everything that goes wrong and that the only thing that is going to solve this is Islamic Sharia law and the concept of the caliphate (an Islamic state led by as religious and political leader who is considered to be a successor to the Prophet Mohammed).”
In addition, Rogers noted that al-Qaida is changing the way tit communicates with its member cells to compensate for leaks about American surveillance, making it increasingly more difficult for the intelligence community to do its job in detecting potential threats while still in the planning stages.
“We’re fighting among ourselves here in this country about the role of our intelligence community, and this is only causing us more harm. We have to shake ourselves out of this pretty soon,” he continued,” and understand that these agencies are not the bad guys.”
