Americana (Photos)

Lately in fashion, there has been a growing trend towards Americana influences. From Elvis, hot rods, Marilyn Monroe, native Americans, and Coca Cola, to traditional denim jeans, and that's not even including the over abundance of American Flag prints that have been used in everything from bathing suits to patches on denim jackets to crop tops. Celebrities and fashion icons seem to incorporate the Americana theme into their styles, such as Rihanna, and Lana Del Ray, who uses many American themes in her work.

Prada Spring / Summer 2012 incorporated Americana themes from hot rod iconography and racing stripes, to American silhouettes such as cuffed jeans, A-line skirts, and collared shirts. The Greasers are back. American Vogue February 2013 Edition also incorporates a spread titled, "The American Way," which focuses on denim and western styles. When will the strong usage of Americana themes and the United States Flag continue to be used as a fashion symbol until?
