American woman found dead in turkey: Sarai Sierra stabbed to death

American woman found dead in turkey. A report posted today at the Detroit Free Press says Sarai Sierra was found stabbed to death in Turkey.

Turkish police reported the New York mother of two had been found dead on Saturday evening, nearly two weeks after she had been reported missing. So far Turkish Police had said "It's her," when asked if the body found with stab wounds to the abdomen at the foot of the ramparts of the city walls in the Sarayburnu district of Istanbul was Sarai Sierra. Sources say her drivers license was found on her.

Sierra, 33, was on her "dream" trip abroad, and was scheduled to return to New York on Jan. 22 after two weeks in Turkey. However she last talked to her family on Jan. 21, when she was supposed to meet a man she had been chatting with for months online at Galata Bridge on the Bosporus.

Police in Turkey have not returned phone calls about the Sierra, but reports say they are questioning nine people about this case.
