“The will of the majority of Americans is to defund Obamacare,” said Texas Senator Ted Cruz at the Senate Floor Tuesday night. “Make D.C. listen.”
With the might of the White House, Mainstream Media, Democrat and Republican leaderships against him, Cruz is fighting the odds with the determination to “speak in support of defunding Obamacare until I am no longer able to stand.”
Washington has not been listening to the American people
“Everywhere you go, you hear from people,” Cruz said Monday night. “It's hurting their lives. People with disability coming up to you saying, please stop this law. I'm at risk of losing my health insurance. This thing isn't working. But you know what? Washington has not been listening to the American people.”
Cruz's campaign was as much about elected officials keeping their promises to the American voters as it was about defunding Obamacare.
"Not listening to their constituents is why Congress has “10, 12, 14 percent approval ratings,” Cruz advised.
Not since Ronald Reagan disturbed established Republicans by siding with common sense Americans rather than play D.C. politics has the media aligned against a conservative.
“Each day I learn what a scoundrel I am,” Cruz told his colleagues. “Most Americans could not give a flying flip about politicians in Washington. Who cares? Most of us are in cheap suits with bad haircuts. Who cares?”
Your constituents are going to know what you did
Cruz offered “we are way beyond having limited news of three stations” but “In 2013 if you vote to give Harry Reid the power to fund Obamacare, your constituents are going to know what you did…that doesn’t work in the Internet age."
Fellow Texas Senator John Cornyn, according to media reports, has worked behind the scenes with Minority Leader Mitch McConnell to work against Cruz’s strategies.
Quick to discipline anyone who doesn't fall in line
The fall out of going against Texas conservatives could mean Cornyn’s future plans with those voters could now be toast—burnt toast. Cornyn’s office and social media sites continues to receive hoards of negative feedback for not backing Cruz.
“A lot of members of this body have — at least so far — not showed up to battle,” Cruz responded to some of the empty chairs in the Senate chamber. “The chattering class is quick to discipline anyone who doesn’t fall in line.”
The timing of Cruz’s talk comes just two weeks after almost one million bikers took a stand in Washington D.C. against corrupt politics and two weeks before a growing number of American truckers and consumers plan a transportation strike and consumer boycott October 11-13, 2013.
Nothing is killing our jobs or hurting our economy more than Obamacare
“The American people want economic growth back,” Cruz recently stated. “That should be our top priority. Nothing is killing our jobs or hurting our economy more than Obamacare. We need to defund it.”
“The only way this fight is going to be won, is if the American people speak so loud that the men and women in this office have no choice but to defund Obamacare,” Cruz alleged.
