American Pi: Unique, colorful boutique now open in Downtown Dayton (Photos)

As a part of Downtown's revitalization venture, St. Clair Street currently has some amazing shops that bring an eclectic spin to the downtown area. Just streets from the Oregon District, this new development has an unique 'All American' boutique named American Pi, which main focus is to provide American made products and provide excellent, friendly customer service.

American Pi, opened in April 2012 and takes pride in our American heritage. 95% of their merchandise is made in America. American Pi purchases merchandise from Ohio such as Roberts Rothchild (Urbana), Stephanie Dawn handbags (Van Wert), Root Candles (Medina), and Lulabell Art (Oakwood). The shop is also in the process of working with a local seamstress to obtain some homemade scarfs. From greeting cards to one of a kind wall decor, this boutique offers everything that is as individual as you. Floor supervisor, December Brewster said, "We specialize in American made because that's our passion."

American Pi is a sister-store to Centerville Coin and Jewelry located in Centerville. Owned by the Fritz family, they took advantage of a financial program offered by the City of Dayton created to bring new business and new interest to the downtown area. Brewster said, "My mom has always been a Dayton girl. We believe that Dayton is up and coming. It's important to get it back to the way it used to be."

American Pi offers online ordering, but to experience the joy of American made products first hand, an in-store visit is encouraged. To appreciate the detail and the quality of the merchandise, one must be able to witness it first hand. One of the most unique items in the store, according to Brewster is the "Tokyomilk line. They create a unique scent. My personal favorite is the dead sexy. This scent has notes of deep vanilla, exotic woods, white orchid and Ebony." While the website has many of the store merchandise, it does not offer everything.

"We hope that American Pi can help Dayton grow and we'd also like to expand one day," Brewster concluded.

Check out this beautify boutique during your next trip to Dayton. Or, the special trip will be well worth the time.
