The American Library Association Conference is coming to Philadelphia January 24-28, 2014 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Center city. This is the first time in over 4 years that the ALAC will be on the east coast and will be a great chance for Librarians across the Delaware Valley to share ideas, find out which books and authors are trending and find out what’s new in Library Technology. There will many publishers there, including but not limited to ABDO Publishing, AIP publishing, Cambridge University Press, Candlewick Press, Charlesbridge Publishing, MacMillan, Proquest Random House and Many more. The average attendance at the conference is expected to be over 8000 people and is comprised of librarians, teachers and school administrators, homeschoolers and private school owners. There will be sessions to attend, materials to consider purchasing and ample time for networking with your peers. An interesting statistic is that 62% of the shows attendees do business with exhibitors they have met at the show.
