"American Idol" winner, Phillip Phillips' mother was arrested on Feb. 14, 2013. Cheryl Phillips has been charged with a DUI. She is being booked at the Dougherty County Jail in Albany, Ga. Cheryl Phillips was pulled over after an officer saw her weaving out of her lane and striking a curb.
Maj. Bill Berry says, "The driver was all over the road, so my officer pulled her over. She was taken to the hospital for a blood test and was charged with DUI-Less Safe."
Cheryl Phillips was given a field-sobriety test that she was not able to pass. The arresting officers did not smell alcohol on her breath. She went with officers to a hospital for a blood test because of her behavior.
DUI less safe is usually charged when a person is possibly under the influence of a substance other than alcohol. The results of the blood test will take a few weeks. TMZ recently reported that Cheryl and Phillip Phillips' father split up recently.
