American Idol Season 9 contestant Tyler Grady made a less than gracious exit after being eliminated during Thursday night's results show.

After American Idol host Ryan Seacrest let "rocker" Tyler Grady know that he was the final contestant of the night to be eliminated, Grady blamed a lack of guidance from the judges for his dismissal by the voting audience.

Tyler Grady told Ryan Seacrest: "I really, I like all the judges and I've really had a great time with them, but I feel like I didn't really get much constructive criticism during Hollywood week, and I feel like what they told me was a little bit too late."

Simon Cowell smirked at Grady's statement as Seacrest quickly segued into a video montage of the night's four eliminated contestants to end the show.

What the American Idol judge Simon Cowell told Grady after his performance of 'American Woman' was: "You come over a lot as someone who's gone to 'pretend to be a rock star school'. It's all a bit cliched. It doesn't feel natural."

Kara DioGuardi told Tyler Grady that he needed to bring his act "into the current decade".
