Soulful singer Burnell Taylor and inspirational performer Lazaro Arbos were named amongst the top ten performers on "American Idol" Thursday night.
Following strong performances during the final portion of the Las Vegas round Wednesday night, Burnell Taylor, Paul Jolley, Curtis Finch Jr., Devin Velez and Lazaro Arbos were picked based on votes from viewers.
"I don't want to sound too cliche, but it means everything," Burnell Taylor said of being selected to move forward in the competition.
Taking the stage, Burnell Taylor performed a rendition of India Arie's "Ready For Love."
Happy to have been selected as well, gospel and inspirational singer Curtis Finch Jr. performed a rendition of "So High" as his victory song.
"You're one of the best singers. Always great vocals," Randy Jackson said of Finch. "Big props to you."
Following Devin Velez, Lazaro Arbos was the final guy to be given great news. After performing his victory song, which was "Bridge Over Troubled Water," Arbos received praise from Mariah Carey.
"Congratulations Lazaro. Obviously people were watching last night and related to you on several levels. Every time you get on the stage, you seem to have grown. I'm really proud of you," said Mariah Carey.
