American Idol: Season 11: Auditions #4 - Aspen recap

The incredibly energetic Jenni Schick, a music teacher from Virginia, was the first contestant to audition. She sang Pat Benetar's "Heartbreaker." She received a yes from each of the judges and a kiss from Steven Tyler.

Curtis Gray auditioned with "It's So Hard to Say Good-Bye to Yesterday," by Boys II Men. He also received a yes from all of the judges.

Richie Law (this season's version of Scotty McCreery), Devan Jones, and Mathenee Trego continued the hot streak, all receiving their golden tickets to Hollywood.

Tealana Hedgespeth told Randy he could call her "dawg" if he wants to and hoped to step out of her twin sister's shadow. She sang "Bring Me Some Water," by Melissa Etheridge. The judges all voted no and told her the singing just wasn't there yet.

Haley Smith, an 18-year-old from Orem, Utah, currently holds three jobs. She sang "Tell Me Something Good" during her audition, and Steven told her that he loved her voice. Randy loved the commitment to her being who she is. The judges all agreed, gave her a yes, and gave her a golden ticket to Hollywood.

Alanna Snare, a 22-year-old bartender/waitress at a restaurant famous for selling bull testes, sang "Jolene," by Dolly Parton. Steven told her she was all over the place with her melody, and Randy told her the singing was terrible. All three judges told her no.

Shelby Tweten, from Mankato, Minnesota, has been struggling with depression and biploar disorder, but has found a release in singing. She sang Carrie Underwood's "Temporary Home." The judges were unanimous in their vote and sent her to Hollywood.

Jairon Jackson, a 19-year-old from Denver, Colorado, sang his own original piece for the judges. After receiving a yes from all three judges, he accidentally ripped his golden ticket and broke a light bulb in all of his excitment.

Angie Zeiderman was a Lady GaGa wannabe and hopeful future best friend. She first sang an overly dramatic show tunes number, but upon giving it a second try with a slower song, she was actually put through the Hollywood.

Magic Cyclops, who is originally from Davenport, Iowa, claimed his British accent came from watching too much BBC America on PBS as a child. He sang Neil Diamond and Jimmy Buffet, and Randy headed off to the bathroom to leave the voting to Jennifer and Steven, who gave a unanimous no.

American Idol will be back tomorrow night at 8/7:00 pm central, with auditions coming to you from Texas.
