Paul Jolley has had quite a year. If it weren't enough that the vocal powerhouse placed in the top 9 on last season’s American Idol, he will soon be releasing his first single. As Jolley’s #Troopers would expect, his song will contain musical depth and impressive range.

Jolley recalled the songwriting process that led to the tune that will ultimately kick off the next chapter of his career. “Healed,” which will be released on Tues. Jan. 28 was the clear choice.

“We started talking about the ideas that were popping into our minds. As soon as “Healed” was mentioned, we took it and ran with it. We decided, that’s it,” recounts Jolley.

The American Idol star co-wrote the expressive tune with some of Nashville’s finest songwriters. Hit songwriter Mark Irwin (“Highway Don’t Care,” and “Redneck Crazy”, etc.) and Adam Wood helped Jolley pen the feel-good song.

The song personally hit home for Jolley, and he believes wholeheartedly in the lyrics that he’s singing.

“It’s one of those songs that hit you when you’ve found someone that makes you feel really special and important. It’s a feeling you’ve never felt before – you feel complete. Not many people feel complete, but when you get that completeness, you instantly feel healed, and it’s one of the best feelings in the world,” shared Jolley.

“Things come and go in life, but when you have that one special moment – it makes you feel good instantly,” he added.

A sample of the lyrics include, “Your kisses make me weak - They make me stronger
There’s not a single thing I can’t conquer with you by my side”

When Jolley sings a song he is passionate about, he flawlessly delivers it with emotion and with artistic expression.

“This song shows who I am as not only an artist, but also as a person. It’s not just some song that someone pitched my way. It’s a song that people can relate to – that I can relate to. When I sing it, that emotion comes across.”

The “freeing” song will be available on iTunes and on

Aside from Jolley’s big release, he is looking forward to playing his first big hometown show since ‘American Idol.’ He will be thanking his supporters with what is bound to be an unforgettable performance on Fri. Jan. 24 in Paris, TN. Tickets are now available and all information can be found on his various social media spots.

The sky is the limit for this rising country pop star and 2014 looks to be just the beginning.
