The New Year has proved to be interesting so far for "American Idol" season eight winner Kris Allen and his wife Katy. E! Online revealed on Jan. 1 that the couple were involved in a head-on collision on the holiday. They are both okay but Kris did end up with a broken arm in the incident. Katy seems to be fine. On a higher note, the singer revealed some really good news on his Twitter that he is going to be a daddy!
Kris’ mother sent out a message along with a photo of her son with a cast on his arm lying in a hospital bed. She wrote, "From Kris: he's in a lot of pain, arm broke, may not play guitar for a while. Prayers welcome please! #headoncollision.” She went on to say that the “Live Like We're Dying” singer and his wife are beat up but alive which she is thankful for. The couple’s French Bulldog, Zorro was also in the car with them. Although he is shook up, Kimberly Allen revealed that the pooch was not injured in the accident.
The 27-year-old later took to his Twitter account to let fans know how he is doing. The accident was unfortunate but it sure couldn’t damper his exciting news he shared with the world. He said, "Thank you @ford for equipping me with a car that kept my whole family @katyallen @ZorroPup and the little one we have on the way safe.” He was certainly sneaky with that bit of surprising news in there. He then went on to write, "Yes I got in a really bad wreck tonight and yes I'm having a lil baby. #gonnabeadaddy."
Congratulations to Kris Allen and his lovely wife Katy! The “American Idol” alum will make a great daddy. As for his tour coming up soon, he revealed that it is still on. However, he might be limiting his guitar playing for a while.
