Nashville's Danny Gokey is celebrating the New Year with the release of his new single, “Hope in Front of Me,” on Jan. 24, 2014. The song borrows its title from Gokey's inspirational book "Hope In Front Of Me," which was released on Oct. 1, 2013.
"Inspirational" is a word often used when describing former church-music-leader-turned-country-artist Danny Gokey. He became a favorite of millions of fans as a top-3 finalist on the eighth season of American Idol. The AI season started just four weeks after Gokey's wife died of complications following routine surgery for congenital heart disease. He eventually remarried and has had his first child.
Now he is in the recording studio putting the finishing touches on a new album slated for a late spring 2014 release. His debut release, "My Best Days," debuted at number 4 on the Billboard 200 charts and garnered the best first-week sales by any debut country male in 18 years.
“It has been a gratifying process to be able to share the parts of my story that many people may not know," Danny Gokey states. "My hope is that people can find a part of their story in mine and that it will inspire hope in others. There are new beginnings. You can recover after devastating loss. Your past does not have to define you or your future. And the greatest part of my story is that helping others brings healing to you and those you help.”
