“American Idol” alumni Ruben Studdard is used to reality television. He understands the intense workouts, but nothing could prepare him for the isolation he was going to face on “The Biggest Loser,” according to All Alabama on October 2. “It’s not something you get used to,” Studdard stated during a phone interview.
Studdard, a Birmingham resident, 35, knew the workouts would be intense. He was mentally prepared for that having trained during his football career at Huffman High School and Alabama A&M. That part of the discipline seemed familiar. “Under the right circumstances, he could even resist a piece of his mom’s scrumptious German chocolate cake.”
Being on “American Idol” prepared Ruben for reality television, but it didn't prepare him for isolation. Once on the “Biggest Loser” ranch television, cell phones, computers, and text messages are forbidden. Ruben has made it clear that “life the Ranch hasn’t been filled with spa treatments.”
“I knew that the gym would be really hard,” Ruben stated. He also mentioned that there have been “temptation challenges, and they are tempting.”
What do you think; will you be rooting for Ruben Studdard on “Biggest Loser” this season?
