At one point during the show the idea went viral and people were laughing at the idea. So who started cradling? According to Gossip Cop on Wednesday night it was Harry Connick Jr who cradled Munfarid Zaidi and started the trend.

“Will more cradling with @ HarryConnickJR be in Munfarid Zaidi's future in #IdolHollywood? Hope so! #idol #IdolPremiere,” tweeted “American Idol” from the show’s official Twitter account on Wednesday night. The show shared several picture of Harry (and others) cradling strangers in their arms.
