As “American Idol” searches for its newest star, Jennifer Lopez scores on the charts with the official World Cup anthem claims The Hollywood Reporter on Thursday. While not America’s pastime, soccer has taken off in the country thanks to the 2014 World Cup and its theme song, “We are One (Ole Ola)” by “American Idol” judge and pop star, Jennifer Lopez featuring Pitbull and the Brazilian songstress Claudia Leitte. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the World Cup theme song “re-entered” the Billboard Hot 100 at 59, and JLo is all over the dance and Latin charts with five other singles. Do you think you could stand in front of this megastar to audition to be the next “American Idol?”

The “Season XIV American Idol” search is underway, which began on Wednesday, June 18 in Minneapolis. The staff has since packed up and left Minnesota for the next stop on June 25 in Louisiana at the Lakefront Arena in the University of New Orleans.

From the South the “American Idol” producers head to Long Island where tens of thousands will undoubtedly vie for a chance to audition in front of Jennifer Lopez. On Wednesday, July 23 Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum will host the “Season XIV American Idol” auditions for the countless of talented New Yorkers and others from the tri-state area.
