On Friday August 1 Johns 35 was found dead at a friend’s house in Tustin, California. A friend of Johns called 911 when he found Johns upon returning home but Johns was unresponsive. According to TMZ who obtained the 911 call Johns was cold to the touch and motionless.

There are reports that Johns had sprained his ankle prior to his death and swelling was up to his knee it could have been a blood clot.

According to the NY Daily News an autopsy was performed on Johns but the results are inconclusive so further testing is needed. "We conducted the autopsy, and the pathologist was not comfortable issuing a cause of death until toxicology tests are done," Lt. Jeff Hallock with the Orange County Sheriff's Department and Coroner said.

As a finalist Johns joined the 2008 American Idol Live tour this opened the door for Johns to work on special projects with other musicians and Olympic athletes like Shaun White. Johns worked on the soundtrack of Whites documentary DVD “Don’t Look Down”.

In 2009 Johns released his hit single “Heart on My Sleeve” the song debuted on Billboard’s Adult Contemporary chart at number 27.

In 2012 Johns did what he does best and performed a song written by David Foster at a dinner party on Bravo’s hit television series “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills”. Johns was charming, relaxed and very natural a quality that made him an instant favorite among fans.

I had the pleasure of interviewing Johns in 2009 when he was invited to perform at Muhammad Ali’s charity event Celebrity Fight Night in Phoenix Arizona. Johns was very charming and he had a pleasant likable spirit about him his talent was obvious and he was enjoying every moment of his new found fame.

Johns will be greatly missed he is survived by his wife Stacey Vuduris they were married in 2007.
