'American Idol': Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj discuss their feud

Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj faced reporters along with the other “American Idol” judges, Randy Jackson and Keith Urban, on Tuesday morning to face questions about the supposed ongoing feud between the two divas. According to E! News on Jan. 8, they took the stage at the Television Critics Association press tour to promote season 12 but the feud was a big topic.

When asked if the rivalry is real or just ratings, Mike Darnell, said that it is authentic and that the judges were a very passionate group.

Nicki tried her best to stay quiet about the fight and answered as little as possible. Mariah had more to say but it is believed to redirect the panel conversation more than to discuss the feud.

Of course the question was asked if the feud had been resolved between Carey and Minaj. The reply they got was from Minaj who replied that they watched her sex tape. This visibly upset Carey who believes that this year the distraction has been taken away from the contestants and been put on the judges. Carey believes it should be about the contestants and not the judges. Randy Jackson backed her up on this.

This truly does seem like it will be one of the more interesting “American Idol” that fans have ever had. Hopefully the judges will be able to play nice and allow the contestants to stay in the light. Tune in Jan. 16. for the first episode of season 12.
