'American Idol' is one of the biggest shows on TV. And quite possibly the biggest singing show ever. Sorry 'X-Factor' and 'The Voice'. By now everyone knows that Mariah Carey is one of the new judges for the show, and that Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler are out.
However, we are yet to find out who the other 2 judges will be this season. It turns out that Randy Jackson's contract still hasn't been renewed and they are thinking about hiring Nicki Minaj. Sounds like a good line-up right? Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj and Randy Jackson. But it seems there might be a slight problem.
TMZ reports that the producers are worried that the judging panel may be a little too 'black' if those are the 3 judges and middle America may not like that. In fact the exact words they used were "Sources connected with the show say they're worried ... if the judge's end up being Mariah, Nicki and Randy ... middle America might not welcome the blackout."
So what does that mean? That 'American Idol' needs to find a white judge?
And it seems as if Randy Jackson may be the one on the way out because it seems pretty certain that Nicki Minaj is going to be hired as the newest judge on 'American Idol'.
Do you think 3 black judges would be 1 too many for 'American Idol'?
