While it may not be enough yet to give him a hit record, "American Idol" champ Lee DeWyze is now certainly heading in the right direction with his debut single "Sweet Serendipity." In the newest airplay numbers released Monday via USA Today, Lee received 117 spins of his new single last week. This is enough to put him at #58 on the chart among show alum, a huge jump from his previous position at #93.
So who is Lee ultimately chasing to be at the top? Daughtry is currently leading the charts with "September," and there is no one really even close to him in terms of competition. Carrie Underwood is a distant second place for the time being with "Mama's Song" -- meaning that the door is essentially open for another "Idol" alum to come in there and have a hit.
Another person to see an improvement this week was fellow former "Idol" champ Kris Allen, whose "Alright With Me" was up eight spots to #66 after spending the previous week at #74.

Lee's song maybe. I don't like Kris's song. There were other songs on the CD that would have made a much better choice.

Wow, your headline makes it sound like these songs are getting thousands of spins ... LOL. Truth be told, these songs are barely being played. Lee's song received 117 spins while Kris's song received 79 spins. Neither one is exactly burning up the charts! These are both very mediocre songs by very mediocre singers. I don't see either song doing that well, but if I had to pick one I would have to give the edge to Lee. The only way these boys are going to be successful is if the media develops an interest in them. So far, the media is NOT interested in Kris Allen. The jury is still out with regard to Lee. In other words, there has to be some buzz. Neither of these two is remotely interesting, and I guess the lack of media attention they have received thus far proves it. Bottom line, they are NOT stars. In order to be a star, you have to exhibit personality, charisma, etc. Kris definitely has neither. I'm willing to give Lee some time to prove himself. Let's see what happens when he starts making the rounds on the various talk shows, etc. to promote his album.
LOL You have no idea what youre talking about. You obviously know nothing about Kris Allen. He has more charisma and personality in his little finger than you do in your whole body. Dont believe me watch some of his banter videos on you tube or follow him on twitter. Considering both these songs have only been out what 3 weeks I think we need to give it some time before we write em off
Wow, what planet did you come from? PLUTO? You should keep your opinion to yourself especially when you are talking about kris Allen. You are too lame you don't even know anything about him. What kind of media attention you want? Maybe stemming from sex act? Nope that is not kris so go back to Pluto or zoo where you come from.
You are absolutely right Kim, Allen is as boring as watching paint dry. It is painful to hear him in an interview. Kris even worse on stage. He barely plays rhythm guitar and his timing is of musically. He will be back in Arkansas eating cheese dip before long. The 79 spins Kris received were probably mostly from Arkansas. His friends and family thought they could cheat for the win and then people would think that Kris out sang Adam Lambert. What a joke!

Until a song receives at least 1000 spins, it's not burning up the charts. Lee is more charismatic than Kris, but I think Kris is a better singer. I don't like Lee's single (I think it's very generic), but I do like Alright With Me, and also wondered why they released The Truth first (that song is boring). I still feel Adam and Crystal should have won, and both will have stronger careers than Kris and Crystal (though we haven't gotten any releases from Crystal yet, of course). Adam still has two songs that are receiving about 3500 spins apiece, WWFM and IIHY, and IIHY is still doing well on the Hot AC and AC charts. If Lee's or Kris's single reaches that level of airplay, like LLWD did, then we'll have more to go on.
You think LEE is more charismatic than Kris? Are you blind? I recognize your name so I know you're a glambert so I'm sure you can appreciate the opinion of your rock god. Do you remember what Adam said about Lee when he mentored him on Idol? He said nothing was going on above his neck!! That's right. His facial expressions were tantamount to those of one who's had botox for years. Whereas Adam has had nothing but AWESOME things to say about Kris, how talented and fun he is and that he's a true musician and a great singer. So yeah. Listen to your rock god.
I love both of these songs and both of these guys. Upbeat and catchy. The kind of songs you can't help but sing along to.
Love Alright With Me. Also love watching the YouTube videos of Kris' and his bands' performances, especially their fall tour opening for Lifehouse. Awesome.

"Alright With Me" is a perfect pick-me-up song. I love hearing this one live, as well as "Is It Over". That song is amazing live. Kris and his band are very talented.
Why do Glamberts continue to troll Kris Allen reports to leave of nasty little comments? Adam lost. It's over. Now you need to get over it. It's not really healthy to continue to obsess 18 months after the fact. Find something constructive to do with your time.
Oh, and Alright With Me is just alright with me. But I do like Sweet Serendipity. It's a bouncy little tune and I like Lee's inflections throughout the song. I would have preferred to hear a different song from him as well as the debut, but I can understand why RCA went with this one. It will capture attention of non-Idol watchers. That is really what is important in the aftermath of Idol, except of course for those few lost souls who continue to stalk these kids long after the confetti has fallen for them (or not, in some cases... see above)
Please do not group Lee with Kris. He may not be the best singer in the world but he is a nice guy who did not have to cheat to win. Why should Lee's fans have to hear the crazy Allen fans talk about how Kris "won' when everyone knows Kris could not out sing Adam on the best day of his life. Look at Adam's success and Kris's lack of it. It is Allen's fans that need to man up and stop pretending that the results were accurate. Crystal and Lee do not have this fan friction because because neither is a cheater.
Lee is boring no personality. Btw, r u ignorant to even suggest kris cheated? In America? Grow up and move on! For adam's fans, I believe Adam is not complaining, so what is ur vested interest. With respect to lee and cyrstal with no friction, of course, the whole season was dead. Their tour alone can attest to that. Let these artists do their job and support the one you like.

Each of these guys is getting what they want and beyond their expectations. Any opinions you have don't really count and if you don't like them, don't listen, but cutting one down over the other does not help one or the other. They could care less and are moving on with their lives. They are making a living, probably far better than you do and having fun doing so. Its all a matter of preference. Grow up and come into the real world. Its all about survival.
