Jen Hirsh wowed the judges of American last week, with her rendition of “Georgia.“ On February 24th the American Idol Judges handed out the decisions on the finale performances. The judges had heard Jen sing, “Baby I Love You.” As Ryan Seacrest said, “This is the final judgment.” The suspense mounted, as the judge’s called Jen into the room, to hear the verdict.
Jen sang, “Baby I Love You” for the finale judgment Was it a great choice? Would the performance be good enough to earn Jen a spot in the top 24? Our viewing room was sure she would make it into the top 24 contestants and after listening to the introduction, we thought that the judges would be crazy to eliminate Jen.
Jen said, “The cuts are about all the little details; it is not just about singing anymore.” Jen went on to share how she was feeling, Jen said, “I don’t’ know where I stand, I just want this over with. I want the band aid ripped off.”
As Jen sat before the judges, waiting for the verdict, we wanted her to win. American Idol judge Randy Jackson said that they are looking for the cream of the crop. Then Jennifer Lopez piped in with, “After this, it is up to America.” At that point we knew that Jen was in the top 24. “You made it,” exclaimed Randy Jackson, repeating the words like a mantra.
Singing the words, “We Found Love in Hopeless Place,” the dancers eventually filled two stages connected by a runway. The lighting was incredible with vivid colors. Belying the words the music was upbeat in tempo.
