Jennifer Lopez's most recent movie is entitled "The Back-Up Plan", so in a way there is some irony right now in what "American Idol" is reportedly doing. According to TMZ, producers for the hit Fox reality show have decided that if J. Lo doesn't happen to work out for them, then they will turn promptly to Shania Twain and offer her the job.
Twain should be extremely familiar to "Idol" fans at this point, since she served as both a guest judge and a mentor last season. Her critique was for the most part pretty spot-on, even if she got a little too excited over John Park's "bottom half".
That being said, the report also echoes the recent claims that Lopez is still considered the main candidate, despite claims that she had fallen completely out of the running due to her demands.
Would you be happy with Jennifer Lopez or Shania Twain, or should they just do whatever it takes to bring back Paula Abdul? (We can dream!)
