The Top 24 ‘American Idol’ contestants are now in America’s hands. Two of last night's picks, Lauren Alaina, 16 and James Durban, 21 sang Steven Tyler’s tune ‘I Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing’. After seeing Alaina at the Nashville auditions and singing with her, Tyler said, ‘I think we found the one today’. Many Flint area fans agreed. Since then, a lot of other talented singers have emerged and some Flint area ‘Idol’ watchers told me this morning, they have to wait and see, it could be anyone’s game. One viewer said, ‘I am undecided until they go live. How they perform live will tell everything.’ Another viewer said, ‘Steven Tyler is totally right about James Durban. He’s amazing. He’s not letting his Autism stop him and I think that’s great. I think he’s going to go really, really far.’
Tyler told Durban, ‘You’re just something else, man. You’re a lightning bolt. You came on so, so strong. You blew us away. I must admit you really let me down with that song, I Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing. You did it better than I do it. You nailed it, you nailed it. I’m just gonna get right to the point. You’re so good. I don’t think that you will ever be selling pizza. You’re going to go on to great heights, as high as you sing my friend. Welcome to the 24.’
Durban hugged and thanked the round of judges, before walking out with his fist raised in victory.
Tyler also had words for Alaina, as they delivered her decision to her. He said, ‘I’ll tell you what, we fell in love with you the first time we heard your voice. But it’s been a long, crazy trip, huh? We’re just not sure how you’re gonna be able to handle it in the big time, since you’re going through girl.’ Alaina joked they were mean. Tyler hugged her and said, ‘I don’t need to tell you how good I think you are. But you’ve gotta keep it up and be even better.’ As she walked away, Jennifer Lopez said, ‘she’s like Dolly Parton.’
Competition is tough, however. Randy Jackson paid huge compliments to Casey Abrams and Jacob Lusk. Jackson told Abrams, ‘In the history of this show, this is the 10th season. I don’t think we’ve ever had a musician as talented as yourself. If you’re singing and playing or whatever, it’s like 3 people in one. I mean I don’t think I’ve ever seen in my life on this show definitely somebody as talented as you are.’
He told Lusk, ‘I must say, your performance of ‘God Bless the Child’ I think is the single best performance ever on Idol, ever!’ Lusk was welcomed to the 24 and he was so happy, he screamed out in song, running down the aisle. Host Ryan Seacrest ran in to see what was going on and Lusk picked Seacrest up and twirled him in circles. Seacrest ran behind him to the holding room and said he’d never ran so fast in his life on the show.
At this point, the next ‘American Idol’ could be any one of the Top 24. America will ultimately vote in their favorites. We’ll have to wait until final votes are counted to see who gets the crown and who earns America’s praise.

I had a boogur coming out of my nose while watching that episode. It fell and landed right in my cats mouth. My cat said, "Yuck! that's disgusting". And now I'm impressed cause it turns out the cat can actually talk. So I will be selling tickets at the circus.
