The opening acts were Caleb and Jena, the two finalists singing their hearts out in anticipation of what was to come later in the show. Later Caleb sang along with KISS, and the entire theater was ablaze with excitement, loud music, and heart pounding vocals, everyone on their feet celebrating Caleb’s milestone accomplishment after an intense season. Then it was Jena’s turn singing alongside Paramore, and without doubt this was also a collaboration that will remain in viewers’ minds for a long time.

And then the judges, Keith Urban, Harry Connick Jr, and Jennifer Lopez along with Randy Jackson performed a combination of Cyndi Lauper’s “True Colors" and Fleetwood Mac’s “Go Your Own Way”, fascinating collaboration and Keith Urban brought the house down with a guitar solo that was just mesmerizing. And as a side note viewers were introduced to Ryan Seacrest’s singing abilities…He is such a good host though…He sang along Richard Marx and it was a lighthearted moment in the show that needed some letting loose from time to time.

The 2 finalists’ families were introduced, everyone sat on the edge of their seat, the moment all had been waiting for arrived and Ryan Seacrest asked for the envelope that obviously was held in the utmost secrecy, asked for the last time this season for lights to be dimmed, and he announced the winner of this season’s American Idol is Caleb Johnson! And the house roared, applause, confetti, excitement, yes, yes, yes, congratulations Caleb on a fascinating season wish you the best in what promises to be a fascinating singing career, your fans are happy for you and look forward to your many concerts and listening to your music.
