'American Idol:' Crystal Bowersox fought tough times in school before show

If there wasn't enough of a reason to root for Crystal Bowersox on "American Idol" before,we certainly have more motivation now courtesy of a new story from Radar Online. A source claims that Crystal suffered often in school from bullying, and was often forced into difficult situations because of her home life:

“Those were difficult times for Crystal, her parents divorced when she was a young child and she did not come from a wealthy background or anything like that.

“When she was part of the swim team she used to have to wear Goodwill bathing suits and the other kids would tease her about that and because she didn’t fit in."

The source goes on to say that Bowersox is hoping to give her son a better life thanks to the show, that way he doesn't have to go through some of the turmoil she did as a child.

So for on "American Idol," Crystal seems to be well on her way to making that happen. The judges are routinely positive about her performances, and Simon Cowell recently declared her a "favorite" on a taping of "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno."

Are you rooting for Crystal Bowersox to win "American Idol?" Feel free to share your thoughts with a comment and stay tuned for more of the latest news.

I REALLY hope she wins,(Crystal Bowersox) but she is so amazing that I am POSITIVE someone will scoop her up and sign her. She will have a CD out eventually and she will be successful. I know I will buy her CD!!! She really is truly gifted. She's very talented. She's confident, She knows who she is. She is straight up, a great artist. Can't wait to watch her unfold into greatness.

As someone who knew and partied with Janis, Crystal acts like Janis has been reincarnated. It's incredible. She's the most talented and will win if they don't saddle her with the wrong song.

    Crystal,
It's not Siobhan to compare yourself to: everytime she sings no matter what she's all black and green (gloomy, bitter and funeral-like). No, your rival is Aaron Kelly with his "Angie". He has the right balance of soul and spirituality like you delivered in "Long as I can see the Light".
Now, do I have to mention the words "church" "gospel" or "God" to get you to deliver your songs that way? If so, then please put a church, gospel spin on ALL of them. It brings your voice out of you and carries it all over the audience, and they're captivated as if under a spell!
Love you, Crystal no matter how this ends up, so best wishes and take care!
